Think Tank MeetUp 04
The budget cuts are starting to leave their marks on the cultural landscape. Many art related institutions are forced to change their course to keep afloat while some others don’t even get that chance. The once exiting and vibrant breeding grounds of new progressive sounds and visuals are struggling to stay true to their experimental roots while also trying to reach out to new audiences in order to prove their relevance.
What might be alternative sources for funding?
What kind of activities could be developed to stay in the game?
How can we maintain a healthy cultural climate for the next generation of artists?
Could a step away from government funding be a blessing in disguise?
The discussion will take place at ‘STEIM‘ on the 4th of July at 19:00. The discussion is organized and moderated by the ‘Soundlings’ and as usual there will be a video stream.
We can only create a meaningful discussion with a limited amount of participants, some of which will be announced later here, but if you feel like you have something important to add to the discussion please send a mail with your motivation to thinktank@soundlings.com.
Thanks,
Soundlings, International Sound Collective
