Oorsprong Curator Series – Oct ’12 edition
The Oorsprong Curators Series is organized each month by Raoul van der Weide. Three curators are asked to bring together multi disciplinary improvisers that have never worked with each other before.
When Soundlings member Tijs Ham was asked to curate a set for the 2012 October edition, he chose to bring together a video artist, a dancer and live-electronics.
The video artist Jochem Hees is a member of Oneseconds, a multimedia collective. During the performance he used a Kinect to detect the poses that the dancer Barbara D’Agostino made which enabled him to create visualizations of the information embedded in her movements. Meanwhile Yaniv Schonfeld brought along a table filled with no-input mixers and effect pedals to create a haunting soundscape.
