An interactive sound piece for the Fotohal exhibition by Soundlings members Tijs Ham & Roald van Dillewijn. The Installation entitled ‘Drill’ shakes up its surroundings in a very literal sense. Combining a motion detecting camera and a powerful subwoofer, Roald and Tijs developed a system that musically drills and bounces off particles of rice that are fed to the installation by the participants. The installation behaves in an almost animalistic manner as the moans and growls when its fed. When all the rice has dissappeared, the sounds die down as ‘Drill awaits its next meal…
